I Downloaded a TTF Font - How do I use it?

Many times you download a font just to use it a project. Installing too many fonts can slow down your computer. However you have MTC, and you can load fonts instead of installing them. In this lesson you will learn how to load a font for a project instead of installing a font.

Many times a font is zipped in a folder. If what you download is in a Zipped File then you can follow these instructions. If you already have your TTF file by itself then you can skip this step.

Right Click the File and Select "Extract All" or "Extract Here"

Select your font and Click Open.

Notice you can only select TTF type files and when you select a font you can get a great preview of the font. That way you know visually if that is the font you are wanting to load.

Your font appears in the drop down list.

Don't forget -Loading simply allows you to temporally use the font and stores it in memory. When you close the application you lose the fonts that were stored in temporary memory.
