Selective Pixel Tracing

Selective Tracing: When tracing, you can choose what to trace by drawing a rectangle around it in the Trace window. To draw the rectangle, simply hold the CONTROL key while left-click and dragging.

Lets open up the Pixel Trace application by clicking the Pixel Trace button.

Select what you want to trace - Click Open

Since I just want to do a print and cut with this I'm going to select the Alpha Tab - Make sure that Texturized Path is selected - and identify the object we would like to trace.

It's a lot like selecting an object on your mat except we're going to put a bounding box around the object of interest. If you need to reselect simply hold the control button down and click anywhere in the preview.

Everything that is shaded will be ignored during the trace. You can hit the apply to see the changes.

If you like the trace hit the Import Button and it will be placed on your mat.

Even though we started out with a traceable image with many pieces to trace, we were able to isolate the one main piece we were interested in.
